The Middle - New Season- ABC TV

Heck! ABC has renewed The Middle sitcom for a sixth season. The Middlefollows the Heck family from a small town in Indiana as they try their best to get ahead. They’re played by Patricia Heaton, Neil Flynn, Charlie McDermott, Eden Sher, and Atticus Shaffer. Like most shows, The Middle is down year-to-year (by nearly 10% in the demo) but this series has remained a consistent performer for the network on Wednesdays at 8pm. That’s particularly important since ABC continues to struggle to find new comedy hits. Of this year’s crop, only The Goldbergs is a moderate success (it’s also been renewed). What do you think? Are you glad that The Middle is returning for a sixth season or do you think the show should have been cancelled? How long should it run?

Walking Dead - Season 5

Can’t get enough of “The Walking Dead”? We’re right there with you. The Season 5 premiere of the hit series does not air until Oct. 12, but AMC has released nine photos to hold fans over.

Last time viewers left off, Rick and a majority of his group – and new members Tara, Sgt. Abraham Ford, Rosita and Eugene – had been captured in a train car by the people at Terminus. Stripped of their weapons, things looked grim as the supposed “sanctuary” turned into a prison. Meanwhile, Carol and Tyreese were unknowingly heading into harm’s way with baby Judith as they set out for Terminus; and Beth’s location after her kidnapping was left a secret.

Maggie’s Lauren Cohan teased during the special “Talking Dead” summer episode that Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” will be “do or die” for our favorite characters. With their lives at stake at Terminus, the survivors will be forced to be not only “resourceful,” but also “brutal” in order to live through another day.

The Season 5 premiere is said to be the “biggest episode” yet, and will have fans of Robert Kirkman’s comic book series figuring out early on which direction the series will be taking. Viewers got a small taste of the drama ahead when the first official trailer for Season 5 was released during “The Walking Dead” panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The video highlighted not only the upcoming battle between Terminus leader Gareth and Rick, but also new groups of survivors – ones that could potentially act as even bigger threats to Rick’s crew.

New additions weren’t what had fans freaking out the most though. The clip in the trailer that had everyone talking was Bob’s decision to spill some major details to Gareth about Eugene’s knowledge of “the cure” for the zombie outbreak. Pack your bags … because it looks like the group will be on the road to Washington by the end of the season.

Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” will be split in half with the first eight episodes kicking off on AMC on Sunday, Oct. 12. The remaining eight episodes will air starting in February after the show returns from a holiday hiatus.

Netflix

Netflix has been offering online movie streaming in the US since 1999, but it's taken until now for the service to make its way over the pond to the UK. For £5.99 a month, you'll get unlimited access to the Netflix library of films and TV programmes, which means that the service will be going head-to-head with the Lovefilm Instant offering, currently priced at £4.99. The gloves are off in the Netflix vs Lovefilm rumble, but how does the new kid on the block fare?

Netflix: Devices

As well as streaming from your computer, Netflix works on pretty much all of the major platforms, including Sony PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, Apple iPhone and Apple iPad. There are also client for various web TVs from the likes of Samsung, along with LG Blu-ray players and LG home theatre systems, along with media streamer boxes from brands like Roku.

The fact that Netflix works on Apple TV as well as across numerous Android devices is also a major boon, and something that Lovefilm doesn't currently offer (there is an Android app where you can manage your list and settings, but no streaming).

However, Lovefilm is aiming to be make its service available on as many devices as possible so it's a reasonable assumption that we won't have to wait too long to see streaming capability on Android devices.

The ability to stream Netflix via the iPhone app using 3G is also great news, although it probably depends on what the 3G signal is like where you live, or more likely what it's like at your gym or on your commuting route, as we're guessing those are the the places where most people will want to watch Netflix on their phone's relatively tiny screen.

Buffering on both the iPad and Android tablet apps is surprisingly swift meaning that you get get stuck into watching your chosen title pretty much straight away.

Syncing between devices is a nice touch, which means that you could start watching something on your laptop, and then pick up where you left off at a later time on another device. The UI is simple to use and more or less the same across different platforms, so the whole experience is pretty much uniform, no matter what you're gadget you're watching on.

Asking 300 Girls For Fun

A guy, known only as “Brian from California,” decided to do a “social experiment” by asking girls if they want to have sex with him. He approached 200 girls in Europe and was very direct: “Hi, do you speak English? I think you’re cute. Wanna have sex with me?” It’s the sequel to “Asking 100 Girls for Sex (Social Experiment)”, where he asked 100 girls in the United States the same question, minus the part about speaking English.

Was this really a social experiment or street harassment with a Youtube filter? Judging by the responses from the women involved, the project was more offensive than “educational.”

Across the board, girls generally don’t enjoy being asked to have sex with someone they’ve never met. Some girls thought he was insane, others laughed and a few said no, but then apologized and gave him a reason for their decline. Others still threatened to slap him for being so rude. Surprisingly, one or two girls actually said yes, and you know what? No judgements here (though it’s unclear if they were just humoring the dude).
Most girls, however, were deeply offended. They told him he was being super rude, to which he responded, “Am I being rude. . . or romantic?” Rude. Definitely rude.

After his first “social experiment,” he turned the tables and got a girl to ask guys the same question. Perhaps not surprisingly, the majority of the guys were confused, but were more likely to say yes.

What have we learned here? Most girls aren’t willing to have sex with strange men, and in fact, being asked that kind of question may in fact border on harassment. Watch the Prank here

Funny Kids Prank

As a parent, one of the worst things you could ever experience would be having to witness your child getting flashed by a stranger, and for a few seconds that is exactly what the parents in this video think is happening. However, the man in this video is not your average flasher - because he is not flashing anyone at all. In fact, the only thing he and his friend are flashing is a positive message on shirts that read “Stay In School” and “Don’t Do Drugs,” which is revealed after the initial prank. If I were him I wouldn’t continue to do this prank for too long. I think he got lucky with this round of parents, but I have a feeling next time he may not. It might sound strange to hear that a couple of men going around playgrounds and flashing children is funny, but well… It kind of is. Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold on. We’ve not lost our minds. And we’re not sick in the head. Hear us out. It’s funny because there’s a twist in the tail – it turns out that the ‘flashers’ are merely flashing inspirational messages to the kids. Not that their parents know this until it’s already happened, though. Watch the prank here.

World Cup Prank 2014

Germany’s Mario Götze wasn’t the only standout star of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final. The attacking midfielder’s volley into the back of the net past Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero at the 113th minute gave Germany a 1 – 0 lead over Argentina and the FIFA World Cup Trophy some seven minutes later. But well before Super Mario and Germany shattered the hopes and dreams of 387 million or so South Americans, Russian American comedian Vitaly Zdorovetskiy (better known on YouTube as VitalyzdTV) had several seconds of fame.

In the video he simulates sex with unsuspecting women in public spaces. 39-year-old Gaillard take a girl from behind while standing on a staircase and tie his laces, another is located in the park and read where he lies on top of her and bang merrily Straight to, 'when he does not make oral sex on a reclining woman .

'Finessen' is situated in camera perspective that makes it seem as if he is about his victims, but in reality, he is a few feet away.

Nevertheless, it seems offensive to some, this involuntary air sex. It is called luftsexvoldtægt and what is worse, partly on twitter where the debate rages.

Some believe the Frenchman glorifies rape, others that it is just good humor and Gaillard is a hero. Comedian defends himself by saying that women are not objects, and the many fans who support him is a victory for freedom of expression. Watch the Prank here

FROM BUMP TO BUZZ" PREGNANCY TIME-LAPSE VIDEO WILL MELT YOUR HEART

Over the year, the Internet sure has had its share of time-lapse videos showing a woman’s growing belly. And then, like clockwork, she leaves the room and returns with a swaddling infant. It’s adorable. We may shed some happy tears or excuse ourselves and seek refuge in the bathroom to ugly-cry for a hot second. While Tom Fletcher’s ”From Bump To Buzz” YouTube video is very similar to these frequently-posted clips, his birth announcement is extra adorable.

Fletcher, of the English pop band McFly, and his wife Giovanna are shown in the video standing and facing each other. While Giovanna’s stomach grows with each passing second, Fletcher sings “Something New,” an original tune the expectant dad put together for the occasion.

“We took photos every day through the 9 months of our pregnancy, this is the result,” Fletcher explained in the video description. The black-and-white birth announcement of the couple’s son, Buzz Michangelo, doesn’t skip a beat as Giovanna’s body changes before the viewer’s eyes. Fletcher certainly has some vocal chops with his sweet acoustic track, allowing a collective swoon from admirers everywhere.

So, if you happen to be expecting and want to share you’re soon-to-be bundle of joy, take a page out of the Fletchers’ book. The results will surely be precious.

7 Damaging Lies We Teach Boys About How to Become a Real Man

Many of the conventional lessons we teach our boys about being men are based on traditional wisdom that encourages young men to embrace violent behavior and stifle emotions. Boys that act outside of the masculinity box we've constructed for them — by expressing fear or insecurty, by eating vegan, by drinking juice instead of beer, by pursuing stereotypically "feminine" interests — are told to "be a man." This narrowed range of acceptable actions, behaviors and interests can make our boys more prone to practicing violence against women, to developing unhealthy habits like binge-drinking and to having emotional issues later in life, among other problems.

So why do we perpetuate these myths? Our society's "real men" should be physically and emotionally healthy and allowed to pursue their true interests, even if those interests don't conform to traditional masculine values.

Here are some of the lies we teach our boys about manning up:

In the movie The World's End, Nick Frost's character resists peer pressure to chug pints of beer, pointing out, "Ordering water in a pub full of rugby lads takes balls." He has a point. For many male adolescents in America, teetotaling or even just drinking in moderation does "take balls" because it counters the tradition that drinking to excess is a right of passage. This is unfortunate, of course, because young men are statistically more likely to binge drink, more likely to commit sexual assault once intoxicated and twice as likely to die from alcohol-related issues as women. Increased health risks and sexual assault? What's not to like.

Yoga Pants Prank

.

Is it true that straight guys will stare at anything as long as it’s wearing yoga pants? If this video is to be believed, the answer is yes. Youseff Saleh Erakat, who goes by the moniker FouseyTube, pulls the kind of Candid Camera stunts that YouTube seems custom-made to facilitate. It’s mostly a prank — I would argue that YouTube is Punk’d for the Internet generation — but there’s more than a kernel of truth in what Erakat uncovered. Here’s how it went down:

Erakat prefaces the video by explaining, “A friend of mine recently told me that I had no idea how hard it is being a girl, because when she wears leggings, everybody stares at her butt. So today, I’m going to find out exactly how hard it is.” So in the name of science (or, y’know, the name of Ashton Kutcher), he donned a pair of leggings, set up a camera, and set the scene by rummaging around in his car’s trunk or the passenger side door, arse to the wind. He experienced plenty of ogling, and every time he caught someone at it, he’d pop his head up, revealing that he’s a dude, and ask, “Were you staring at my butt?”

Most of the guys he caught were embarrassed, although it’s anyone’s guess as to whether it was because they had been caught staring, or because they had been caught staring at another guy’s butt, or because this guy approached them kinda aggressively and they were caught off guard. Some were grossed out. And perhaps most bizarrely, some were angry, physically going after Erakat in retaliation. The whole thing ended up being as much a comment on homophobia as one on sexism and street harassment.

My favorite reaction is the guy at about the one-minute mark who answers “Yeah” to Erakat’s question. When asked why he was staring, he says, unapologetically, “You have a nice ass!” It’s true that he might just have been playing Erakat at his own game, but the fact that he was able to respond as such gives me hope that everything might not be as dire as it seems.
